Compassion

11 ... he called to her and said, "Bring me a morsel of bread in your hand." 12But she said, "As the LORD your God lives, I have nothing baked, only a handful of meal in a jar, and a little oil in a jug; ... 13Elijah said to her, "Do not be afraid; go and do as you have said; but first make me a little cake of it and bring it to me, and afterwards make something for yourself and your son.

Until he extends the circle of his compassion to all living things,
man will not himself find peace.*

Carol and Isobel (licking her lips!) enjoying their goodies.

Jan loves to have people make a fuss over her!!!
Carol and Jan each had two paintings selected by the
Colorado Alzheimer's Association for the big
Art Auction next Thursday evening!

Isobel, 101, wanted to know why her painting hadn't been
selected and I had to explain to her that we had not submitted
her painting because she doesn't have any form of dementia.
She looked up at me for a minute and coyly asked,
"How do you know?"

Carolyn and Gail (Gail and her husband are the ones
getting ready to leave next month for the Peace Corps).

Such a glorious drive it was up to Echo Lake!
That night it snowed ... up there, not here.

This one is for Robin!
Vicki and I found this statue next to a Starbucks at the old Stapleton Airport site.
We had a cup of coffee before Vicki's minor surgery.
(Five and a half hours later, Vicki was chipper enough that we were able to go to lunch!)

We finally have ducklings at the lake!

On the way to a party last night, I saw lots of wildlife.
I just had to stop to take a picture of this white buffalo!

12As he approached the gate of the town, a man who had died was being carried out. He was his mother's only son, and she was a widow; and with her was a large crowd from the town. 13When the Lord saw her, he had compassion for her and said to her, "Do not weep." 14Then he came forward and touched the bier, and the bearers stood still. And he said, "Young man, I say to you, rise!" 15The dead man sat up and began to speak, and Jesus gave him to his mother.
