Ideals are like
stars;
you
will not succeed in touching them with your hands.
But like the seafaring man on
the desert of waters,
you choose them as your guides, and
following them you will reach your
destiny.
~
Carl Schurz
An effective way to deal with predators is to taste terrible.

The
opening invocation at the Opening Worship on Sunday included a flute solo by Calvin Standing Bear. Bear, originally from the Rosebud Reservation in South
Dakota, wore Native American dress and was accompanied by a powerful combination
of drums from the orchestra.
The
Opening Worship on Sunday morning, May 25th, transformed the plenary hall
into a sacred space. This two-minute video provides some of the sights and
sounds.
