23May the God of peace himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body
be kept sound and blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Best of all, Christmas means a spirit of love,
a time when the love of God and the love of our
fellow men should prevail over all hatred and bitterness,
a time when our thoughts and deeds
and the spirit of our lives manifest the presence of God.

Love never asks how much must I do,
but how much can I do.

Lord Jesus,

Master of both the light and the darkness, send your Holy Spirit upon our preparations for Christmas.
We who have so much to do seek quiet spaces to hear your voice each day.
We who are anxious over many things look forward to your coming among us.
We who are blessed in so many ways long for the complete joy of your kingdom.
We whose hearts are heavy seek the joy of your presence.
We are your people, walking in darkness, yet seeking the light.
To you we say, "Come Lord Jesus!"
Amen.

John the Baptist's report card from elementary school:

"Johnny B. continues to share well with others, especially his younger cousin.
However, he continues to need to work on his personal hygiene and eating habits."
