Listen!

11As they continued walking and talking, a chariot of fire and horses of fire separated the two of them,
and Elijah ascended in a whirlwind into heaven. 12Elisha kept watching and crying out,
"Father, father! The chariots of Israel and its horsemen!"

2... Jesus took with him Peter and James and John, and led them up a high mountain apart, by themselves. And he was transfigured before them, 3and his clothes became dazzling white, such as no one on earth could bleach them.  ...  7Then a cloud overshadowed them, and from the cloud there came a voice, "This is my Son, the Beloved; listen to him!"

Listening to your heart, finding out who you are, is not simple.
It takes time for the chatter to quiet down.
In the silence of "not doing" we begin to know what we feel.
If we listen and hear what is being offered,
then anything in life can be our guide.
Listen.

True wisdom starts with listening. We can’t do that when we are talking. We can’t do that when we are being entertained. We can only do that when we enter into the presence of the living God and tune out everything else. We can’t stay in that place, just as Peter, James, and John could not stay on the mountain top. But we must return to that place in our lives where we can connect with the transcendent and loving Christ in order to bring wholeness to our lives and the lives around us.
