35He sat down, called the twelve, and said to them, "Whoever wants to be first must be last of all and servant of all."
36Then he took a little child and put it among them; and taking it in his arms, he said to them, 37"Whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me welcomes not me but the one who sent me."

Try not to become a man of success,
but rather try to become a man of value.

6:45 a.m.
Sunrise on my way to Rotary Club on Friday.
It was so spectacular I simply had to stop, get out, and take a picture.
Within five minutes the dark and roiling clouds had obscured everything!
That afternoon we had our first snowfall of the season.

It is amazing how much people can get done
if they do not worry about who gets the credit.

* We must see the difference between choosing to serve (an activity) and choosing to be a servant (a person/a lifestyle).  When we choose to serve, we are still in charge ... when we choose to be a servant, we give up the right to be in charge ... we become available and vulnerable.        - Richard Foster, in Celebration of Discipline

(Jesus asked) "What were you arguing about on the way?" 34But they were silent,
for on the way they had argued with one another who was the greatest.
