Who Can Be Saved?*

disciples,
"How hard it will be for those who have wealth to enter the kingdom of
God!"

The Denver Art Museum had their
grand opening last weekend!!!
During
the 35 hours it was open, they had 33,755 visitors!

I was
particularly happy to see art works from our African collection finally have a
permanent home. In the Conservation Council, we have worked closely with
many of these artifacts but have generally seen them only on the shelves in
storage.
The Harmsen
Collection, too, now has a permanent home.
This is the interior of the
crosswalk that spans 14th Avenue
and connects the new Hamilton
Building with the 'old'
North Building. I like this
view because it includes the
"Mailbox Building" in the distance
(top right). The top of the Mailbox Building
is where Frederic C. Hamilton
resides. (I'm not sure he actually
lives there, but
his art collection is there ... can anyone
clarify?)
Still working
to be ready for the Grand Opening!
(These
pictures were taken the Wednesday before the
Opening.)

* Here comes that man
again, running up to Jesus with a question about eternal life. We can hear
those dreaded words on Jesus’ lips even before the man approaches: "It is
easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is
rich to enter the kingdom of God." Even before Mark tells us so, we know that
the rich young man will turn away grieving, for he has many possessions. And
some of us grieve with him as we see him leave, knowing his choice could be
ours as
well.
