A leaf fluttered in through the window this morning,
as if
supported by the rays of the sun,
a bird settled on the fire escape,
joy
in the task of coffee,
joy accompanied me as I walked.

One of the greatest joys known to man
is to take a flight into
ignorance in search of knowledge.

Joy to the world, the Lord is
come!
Let earth receive her King;
Let every heart prepare Him room,
And
Heaven and nature sing,
And Heaven and nature sing,
And Heaven, and
Heaven, and nature sing.
Joy to the earth, the Savior
reigns!
Let men their songs employ;
While fields and floods, rocks, hills
and plains
Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat,
repeat, the sounding joy.
No more let sins and sorrows
grow,
Nor thorns infest the ground;
He comes to make His blessings
flow
Far as the curse is found,
Far as the curse is found,
Far as, far
as, the curse is found.
He rules the world with truth
and grace,
And makes the nations prove
The glories of His
righteousness,
And wonders of His love,
And wonders of His love,
And
wonders, wonders, of His love.

* Quite a few years after Isaac Watts death, the words of the hymn were put to music through the efforts of Lowell Mason. Dr. Mason did not write the music himself but improvised from another hymn called the Messiah by Frederick Handel. He had a great music career and composed more than 1600 devout works.
