Love

And the angel said unto them,
"Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy,
which shall be to all people.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior,
which is Christ the Lord."

The most important thing in life
is to learn how to give out love,
and to let it come in.

Christmas itself is by grace ... it could
never have survived otherwise.

Our Wednesday Breakfast Group had our Christmas Party
at Evergreen Life Care Center where Sylvia is recuperating
from her broken hip/leg.  The blizzard had just started.

Our BIG snowstorm began to let up early on Thursday morning.

Hmmmmmmmmmm.  Doesn't a classic snowflake have six main points?
What happened to the one in the lower left quadrant above?

after the storm had stopped and the birds ventured forth.

A Christmas Carol

The Christ-child lay on Mary's lap,
His hair was like a light.
(Oh weary, weary was the world,
But here is all aright.)

Ah, dearest Jesus, Holy Child,
Make thee bed, soft, undefiled
Within my heart, that it may be
A quiet chamber, kept for Thee.
My heart for very joy does leap
My lips no more can silence keep,
I must sing with joyful tongue
That sweetest ancient cradle song.

Gilbert K. Chesterton

Christmas Prayer

May goodwill
blow like a warm wind
this holiday season,
touching our lives with grace,
compassion, and wisdom.

May the Gulf Coast of our spirits
be renewed and uplifted;
its heaped debris
transformed into landscapes
of beauty & joy.

And in the winter of our hearts,
may the sun shine
into remote corners of hope,
revealing the Christmas we love -
the Christmas of Peace on Earth.

39 In those days Mary set out and went with haste to a Judean town in the hill country, 40where she entered the house of Zechariah and greeted Elizabeth. 41When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the child leaped in her womb. And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit
