Alleluia!

1After the sabbath, as the first day of the week was dawning, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the tomb. 2And suddenly there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord, descending from heaven, came and rolled back the stone and sat on it. 3His appearance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow. 4For fear of him the guards shook and became like dead men. 5But the angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid; I know that you are looking for Jesus who was crucified. 6He is not here; for he has been raised, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay. 7Then go quickly and tell his disciples, 'He has been raised from the dead, and indeed he is going ahead of you to Galilee; there you will see him.' This is my message for you."

Easter tells us that life is to be interpreted
not simply in terms of things but in terms of ideals.

Virginia's last painting done on January 25, 2008.
I gave it to her daughter at her Remembrance last Sunday.

A bobcat said hello to me as I was leaving ...

... and then ran away through the heavy snowflakes.

It is snowing right now and the lake is still covered with ice,
but a blue heron was back by the stream enjoying the early sun on this nippy morning.
I loved the reflections!!!

         Counting the Cost
                    Kneeling in Jerusalem,
                            Ann Weems

                The end begins
                    with a woman
                        who poured perfume
                            upon his head.
                She poured it lavishly,
                    without counting the cost.
                The disciples were angry;
                    the perfume could have been
                            sold
                    and the money
                            given
                    to the poor.
Where have I heard that tune before?

Oh, what trouble we have with gifts and giving!
                You want to tell me
how much and when and to whom
and I want to tell you
my way of giving is better than yours.
What Jesus told the disciples and us
                                    is:
                    An extravagance of the heart
is a fine and beautiful thing.

Why is it that this one is so hard for us?
