Envy
The Parable of the

Envy is a symptom of
lack of appreciation
of our own
uniqueness and self worth.
Each of us has
something to give that no one else has.
~Elizabeth
O'Connor
Envy is the art of
counting the other fellow's blessings
instead of your
own.

Bev and Jim's Bluegrass
Band played
at church for
our Chuckwagon Barbecue Saturday
evening.
Carmon showed us how he is
going to mount
a christening
suit for some friends of ours.
The elk have been bugling
for a few weeks now
as the bulls gather their
harems.
This big guy had several
encounters with a younger bull
who was trying to
challenge him for his females.
Here he comes again.
I watched him being chased
off three times.
The big guy gives chase
across the meadow.
The younger bull changed
his mind each time and turned tail and ran!
Grace is always
amazing grace.
Grace that can be
calculated and 'expected' is no longer grace.

10Now when the first came, they thought they would receive
more; but each of them also received the usual daily wage.
11And when they received it, they grumbled against the
landowner, 12saying, 'These last worked only one hour,
and you have made them equal to us who have borne the burden of the day and the
scorching heat.' 13But he replied to one of them,
'Friend, I am doing you no wrong; did you not agree with me for the usual daily
wage? 14Take what belongs to you and go; I choose to
give to this last the same as I give to you. 15Am I
not allowed to do what I choose with what belongs to me? Or are you envious
because I am generous?' 16So the last will be first,
and the first will be last."
