Baptism of the
Lord
"This is my
beloved."
As the people
were filled with expectation, and all were questioning in their hearts
concerning John, whether he might be the Messiah, John answered all of them by
saying, “I baptize you with water; but one who is more powerful than I is
coming; I am not worthy to untie the thong of his sandals. He will baptize you
with the Holy Spirit and fire. His winnowing fork is in his hand, to clear his
threshing floor and to gather the wheat into his granary; but the chaff he will
burn with unquenchable fire.”
Now when all the people were baptized, and
when Jesus also had been baptized and was praying, the heaven was opened, and
the Holy Spirit descended upon him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came
from heaven, “You are my Son, the Beloved; with you I am well
pleased.”

21-22

This was the week for us
to submit our Memories in the Making paintings
to the Colorado Alzheimer's
Association. I took them down on Tuesday evening.
This one was done by Jan
Y. at the Senior Resource Center. I love it!

Caleb and Sidney Gates hosted our Farewell Celebration for
Carl
Patterson's retirement as Conservator for nineteen years
with the
Denver Art Museum.

Jessica was one of
several who gently roasted Carl.

Carl was presented
with an automated bug by the Flower Council.
He was constantly
admonishing (battling) the Flower Council to be
verrrrrrrrry
careful to prevent the introduction
of insects to the delicate museum environment.
It was
sometimes awkward for me to be on both the Flower
Council and
the Conservation Council.

As Conservator of the
Denver Art Museum,
Carl has been called on to conserve many unusual
artifacts!

Carl plans for
us to continue our get-togethers three or four times a year. I hope we
really do.
I have spent twelve very interesting years with many of these
people.
... we are like
the 3 Wise Men who journeyed to Jesus.
Now, like those Wise
Men, we return to the world from which we came,
to the everyday life
where we will witness to what we have seen.
