Artist's comment: "I suppose that I have painted the Prodigal Son more than any other subject. I am not sure why that is. I believe it is because there are so many dimensions to the parable that keep me coming back to the story. This painting is about the Father and his love for his son which is unconditional love. I am fortunate enough to be loved this way by my earthly Father as well. Christ makes many attempts to express to his disciples the depth of His love and the love of His Father. I suppose this story is the closest thing to spiritually seeing what Jesus is trying to say to his disciples as well as you and I. We will one day see as we should, hear as we should and speak as we should. When we finally stand face to face with Him we will get it. Until then we need his story to express such a state of being and He gives us the grace to be Fathers to our children as well and to practice His unconditional love."

* I keep trying to remember that!!!

From now on, therefore, we regard no one from a human point of view; even though we once knew Christ from a human point of view, we know him no longer in that way. So if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation: everything old has passed away; see, everything has become new! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting the message of reconciliation to us. So we are ambassadors for Christ, since God is making his appeal through us; we entreat you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God
