Happy Birthday,
U.S.A.
The Prayer of St. Francis
Lord,
make me an instrument of thy peace;
where there is hatred, let me sow
love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where
there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is
sadness, joy.
O Divine
Master,
grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to
console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved, as to
love;
for it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are
pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal
life.

Francis (Francesco) of Assisi

Liberty is
always dangerous,
but it is
the safest thing we have.

How little
do my countrymen know
what
precious blessings they are in possession of,
and which no other people on
earth enjoy!

Vicki’s friends, Denise and Michael, have a BIG pond in their back yard!
JAK loved it.
Denise and Michael kept JAK and Woofie for three days and now
I have them until Vicki comes home on Monday.
“Bob” is 20 inches long.
Several of us celebrated CV’s birthday in Silver Plume …
… and had some chuckles!
Beautiful poppies
To live in
hearts we leave behind
is not to die.

IN THE GARDEN
I come to
the garden alone
While the dew is still on the roses
And the voice I hear
falling on my ear
The Son of God discloses.
Refrain
And He
walks with me, and He talks with me,
And He tells me I am His own;
And the
joy we share as we tarry there,
None other has ever
known.
He speaks,
and the sound of His voice,
Is so sweet the birds hush their singing,
And
the melody that He gave to me
Within my heart is
ringing.
Refrain
I’d stay
in the garden with Him
Though the night around me be falling,
But He bids
me go; through the voice of woe
His voice to me is
calling.
Refrain

… Do not be deceived; God is not mocked, for you reap whatever you sow. If you sow to your own flesh, you will reap corruption from the flesh; but if you sow to the Spirit, you will reap eternal life from the Spirit. So let us not grow weary in doing what is right, for we will reap at harvest time, if we do not give up. …
