Reformation Sunday *
Vision
They came to Jericho. As he and his disciples and a large crowd were leaving
Jericho, Bartimaeus son of Timaeus, a blind beggar, was sitting by the
roadside. When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout out
and say, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!" Many sternly
ordered him to be quiet, but he cried out even more loudly, "Son of David,
have mercy on me!" Jesus stood still and said, "Call him here."
And they called the blind man, saying to him, "Take heart; get up, he is
calling you." So throwing off his cloak, he sprang up and came to Jesus.
Then Jesus said to him, "What do you want me to do for you?" The
blind man said to him, "My teacher, let me see again." Jesus said to
him, "Go; your faith has made you well." Immediately he regained his
sight and followed him on the way.

The
highlight of the evening was recognizing Vera Carucci as the Volunteer of the
Year.
Vera
started volunteering at Life Care Center of Evergreen 20 years ago when she was
80!!!
Yes, she is now 100 years young and still volunteers every Sunday!
Vera
was also awarded Life Care’s Western States Division (huge area)
She
is shown here with Chad James, Executive Director,
and Marilyn Herrs, Activities Director.
Jeanne had
just returned from a long trip and didn’t feel up to the theater on Thursday.
Vicki
happily used her ticket and we thoroughly enjoyed Is He Dead? by Mark Twain.
A true
farce!!!
Our speakers

** Hi Carolyn, Thank you so much
for your interest in my work. I am not sure which of my arts you are
interested in so will try and touch on both. I do teach both art forms, have
taught the baskets for several years and the Sailor's valentines for a couple.
The sailor's valentines are more involved and much more expensive. They range
from 1,200 dollars and up depending on size and detail. An average size of
15" could cost over 4,000 dollars easily and take from 2-4 months to
create.
The baskets range from 240 dollars for 5-7" and more
depending on the size and design. I teach both and if you have an interest, you
can email me for details. I will hopefully teach a valentine class next summer.
I will be leaving for Florida after the holidays. I have to know in advance
about classes as these supplies have to be gathered in advance. If you have
more interest, we can arrange to talk more. Both of these art forms are very
old and there is a lot of history on both. Thanks again for your interest.
Sincerely
Brandy Llewellyn
