A Lenten Journey

Then he began to teach them that the Son of Man must undergo great suffering, and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests, and the scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again. He said all this quite openly. And Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. But turning and looking at his disciples, he rebuked Peter and said, "Get behind me, Satan! For you are setting your mind not on divine things but on human things."

He called the crowd with his disciples, and said to them, "If any want to become my followers, let them deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. For those who want to save their life will lose it, and those who lose their life for my sake, and for the sake of the gospel, will save it. For what will it profit them to gain the whole world and forfeit their life? Indeed, what can they give in return for their life? Those who are ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of them the Son of Man will also be ashamed when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels."

Mark 8:31-38

It is the heart which perceives God and not the reason.

That is what faith is:

God perceived by the heart,

not by the reason.

We have had a lot of cold weather and snow this week; many cancellations and closures.

There have been quite a few mountain lion sightings lately and many rumors.

Van sent the following picture and said:

Carolyn, Read all the way to the bottom and photo.  This lion was on the Chisholm's patio Sun noon and then wandered up to the house above them.  We do not know the Watson's who live above.  Will send the trail camera photos from 10 days or so ago in separate  email.  Yes, it took 800 photos of the three lions on Chisholm’s property in one evening and night.. A mom, 2yr. old tom and a 1 yr old kitten that still had leg stripes and spots.

Lion at Watson’s

Date: Sun, 22 Feb 2015 14:01:37 -0700

This lion just walked up on the Watson’s deck and looked in the window.

It was about an hour after the one on the Chisholm’s patio so I do not know if it was the same lion, another one of the three or not.

It was lovely to see the sun again!
